Yes. HER Health maintains collaborative relationships with experienced consulting physicians and hospital-based teams. We work closely with Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist Dr. Victor Rosenberg, are covered by the Good Samaritan Hospitalist group, and maintain an ongoing professional relationship with Westchester Medical Center’s Perinatal Department. When higher-level or specialized care is indicated, we coordinate timely referrals for high-risk maternity and gynecologic care to ensure seamless, comprehensive support for our patients.
-
HER Health midwives attend hospital births at Good Samaritan Hospital (GSH).
-
If medical concerns arise, we coordinate care with the appropriate specialists. In some cases, care may transition to an obstetric provider, but we remain committed to supporting you through referrals and continuity whenever possible.
-
While a doula is not required, we strongly encourage doula support whenever possible. Evidence shows that continuous labor support from a trained doula is associated with improved birth outcomes, including lower rates of intervention, shorter labors, and increased satisfaction—even when care is provided by a midwife. Your midwife focuses on medical care, clinical decision-making, and overall safety, while a doula provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support throughout labor and birth. Many families find that this combination creates an especially well-supported and empowering birth experience. That said, choosing to have a doula is always your decision. We respect every family’s preferences and are committed to supporting you fully, regardless of your choice.
